Love Sheep? Brenda's Having A Giveaway

Hi, Everyone. I haven't blogged in sooo long. I just saw Brenda's newest giveaway that ends June 15th.

In addition to the Wooly Sheep, she's also giving away 2 sheep tucks and 2 printed sheep pillow tucks.
Click The Rusty Thimble to enter by June 15th.
It's been really raining for days here, and will continue for a few more days. You should see the shrubs and flowers!
That's the great part about rain.
I finally stopped going for injections. I'm supposed to be enjoying being pain free. I am for the most part. They did get rid of the leg pain which is excruciating. I can deal with the rest!
The mister is almost done with his custom job. By the end of June he should be able to start on our house. I've been making a list for about a year so he doesn't really know what's in store for him! His boy is spending a good deal of the summer with us like he usually does, so he's going to be a big help with the heavy lifting like the drywall sheets.
We've been watching a lot of British crime shows on Netflix. They've got some AWESOME shows over there. Gosh, I love Netflix.
I have a bowl arrangement of white peony flowers from my peony bush and they look like big pouf balls. The fragrance is so wonderful, I didn't know they were scented the first year I lived here. I'm glad I found out, because they're wonderful sitting right next to me while I write or watch t.v. Uhmmm...
My sister's birthday came and went and no Izannah Walker doll. I had to resort to sending conventional gifts like  a matching purse and slingback shoes. She loves them, but I wish I had made the doll in time. They are so involved, anyone who's made one or attempted one knows that. I can't get the head just right; it's still too big for the body. So, I start over tomorrow.
She sent me antique fabric that she bought at a doll show somewhere so little Izzy's clothes are going to be fabulous.
I really need to go to the eye doctor. I can't see the little holes in the linen when I cross stitch. Mister's been after me to go for two years. So I really need to make an appointment.
Mom's doing very well. She turned 87 in February. Gosh, I'm getting old. Every time my sister has a birthday, I get a reminder that she's 10 years older than me, so I realize that my next birthday in 4 months is gonna be my 57th. Oh, well...
Handsome can't find his wallet, so I'm going to help him now.
He needs to go to CVS.
You all take care and enjoy your week.
Hugs,
Susan

Folk Art and Primitives Etsy Team Giveaway Winners

Hello, everyone. Today the artists of the blog and team of Folk Art and Primitives announced the winners of their first giveway from their ETSY team.
I won Group Number One and I'm so happy. The win came at a particularly sad time for me and it really, really made me happy again.
Go to their blog site HERE to see their new blog and to see all of the prizes, artists' work and winners of their huge giveaway.
Take care, stay safe and happy. We're expecting more snow today, and next week for the first day of Spring we're expecting 6-12 inches of snow! Oh, well, the daffodils are already poking thru so it won't be long now.
Hugs,
Susan

Spring Colors Floss Giveaway

Good Morning!

Nancy of Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe is having  a giveaway on her blog for 5 winners
who will each win 5 skeins of floss in new,
antique-looking spring colors. She's keeping the
colors a surprise until the winners are chosen
and we all like surprises.
A lot of you are already stitching your Spring
pinkeeps, samplers and other projects, and from Nancy's description, this floss would be perfect
for primitive and folk art projects.
Go to Nancy's blog HERE to enter.
After this giveaway, Nancy says she will be showing more spring colors and she plans on having another giveaway with possibly some trims, too.
Good Luck!
It snowed again during the night. Wherever you are I hope you are warm and safe.

Saturday Nite Cravings and Bear Fur

Is anyone else in menopause having cravings?
This has been going on with me for several months. Poor sweetie, after working 12 hours he's stopping off at the store for fried chicken, baked beans and cole slaw. I just couldn't help it. We've both eaten supper,

but we're eating again. And we wonder why we're overweight (no we don't).
The boys and I have had a quiet, lazy day. There's something in the air, it's supposed to snow again. Yesterday was just a dusting, 2 inches. It made everything pretty again after the semi-meltdown.
I've been piecing patterns over cloth all day. Trying to decide which color I'm going to use for Priscilla's dress. Priscilla is the 16" bear that Mom is getting for her birthday tomorrow. Yes, you read that correctly. Her birthday is tomorrow and Priscilla and her wardrobe are still on the table. It's not all my fault. Yes, I ordered everything with enough time to spare. But the storm (first one) delayed the deliveries. When the fur got here, guess what? The piece wasn't big enough. I don't know how I blundered but I did. Now, the second order won't be here until the 19th. Last night on the phone, I had to break the news (she's actually getting used to me breaking news since she moved South) and she said, 'Oh, sweetheart, that's o.k. I'm not a child, I'll live'. Well, I'm hoping I really am off the hook and she means it. Sis and Dan are taking her out to dinner tomorrow. Dan's birthday is actually right after Mom's so they're doing a 2-fer.
Mr. Glen Oaks will be home soon, I hope, before the snow starts again. I need to finish up here so that I can greet him at the door.
I hope you all have a peaceful, happy weekend.
Hugs,
Susan

Check Out Kathy's Beautiful Finish of Faux Grain Sack Dish Towels

We're expected to get two feet of snow starting tomorrow, and I went looking for something that I could do in case the power goes out. Check out these projects from the blog Dee Duncan writes at
Vintage Country Style.  Thank you Kathy at Kittredge Mercantile
for posting about her recent finish of faux grain sack dish towels.
They came out beautiful, Kathy! She listed the link for Dee's tutorials so I wanted to share with more of us bloggers.
The links are below.
I have the deep blue paint and I found some very old feed sacks that have no printing left on them anymore, it's so faded it's almost invisible. I thought I'd use those to work on. Even if the power doesn't go out, it's looking like a great project to work on. I've got my sister's birthday coming up, and if the Izannah Walker doll doesn't work out, I need back up's!!
Thank you, Kathy and Dee:
